ShopThing Marketplace: FAQ

Q: What are the fees for selling on ShopThing?

  • For each transaction, you will be charged a Transaction Fee (in an amount equal to 10% of the sales price), the tax charged on each Transaction Fee, a Processing Fee (in an amount equal to 3.5% of the final order price), and the tax charged on each Processing Fee (if applicable).

    Sellers utilizing ShopThing’s carrier accounts to generate a shipping label will also be charged a Seller Protection fee.

*Your Payout will not include sales tax. ShopThing will automatically calculate, collect, and submit sales tax on your behalf, as applicable, on a regular basis.

Once an order has been fulfilled, you will be able to generate an earnings report from the App. To do so, tap on the “See All” button from your seller homepage. For the event that you want to generate a report, swipe left and tap on “Create Earnings Report.” You will receive an email from hello@shopthing.com with your Earnings Report.

Q: What is Seller Protection?

  • ShopThing Seller Protection is designed to safeguard Sellers against potential losses for packages that are deemed lost or damaged in transit by the carrier. ShopThing only provides Seller Protection to Sellers utilizing ShopThing’s carrier accounts to generate a shipping label.

  • Protection Fee: A base fee of $2.00, plus tax, will be charged for orders with a sales price up to $1,000. For every $1,000 increment over $1,000, an additional $2.00, plus tax, will be charged. The Protection Fees will be charged in the Seller's local currency. Learn more about our Seller Protection program here.

Q: When will I be paid for my items?

  • You will receive your Payout upon successfully fulfilling and shipping your sold item via the ShopThing Inventory System Dashboard, and upon the customer’s successful receipt of item.

Q: What items can I post?

  • Popular categories include luxury handbags, shoes, ready to wear, accessories, and jewelry!

  • Please refrain from posting prohibited items, including but not limited to, lingerie, undergarments, hosiery or products featuring derogatory or inflammatory imagery, memorabilia, or illegal paraphernalia. Please refer to our ShopThing Seller Terms for a list of items that are prohibited to post.

  • All items should be in good to excellent condition. Please make sure to clearly highlight all imperfections in your video, audio, and product descriptions.

Q: What items require authenticity?

  • In order to sell on our Marketplace, we require that all products posted are purchased from a reliable source and are authentic. If you sell a bag that is equal to or greater than $500 in your local currency, you will be required to send it to ShopThing for authentication. Please follow our process linked here.

Q. What is the return policy?

  • Any item sold through Marketplace is considered FINAL SALE, meaning that once a customer has made a purchase from you in Marketplace, they will no longer be able to cancel, return or exchange the item for a refund/and or credit. All of these items will be listed in the event as FINAL SALE. That being said, if a customer receives a product with an undisclosed damage or discrepancy, the item will be returned back to you.
