What Is the ShopThing Marketplace?
As of 2023, we introduced the ShopThing Marketplace in our App, where sellers sell from their own business, closet, or head out to local retailers and designer stores to hunt down the best deals for you.
With the launch of the ShopThing Marketplace, we are dedicated to enhancing your experience through ongoing improvements. New features will gradually be implemented as we receive more feedback. Thank you for your patience as we work through this process!
Why does ShopThing have a Marketplace?
Since ShopThing first launched, integrating a marketplace into our business model has always been one of our main goals. Aside from offering our customers more choice, our Marketplace is one of the many ways we embrace circular fashion – extending the life cycle of luxury items and reducing fashion’s environmental impact.
What can I sell?
ShopThing is known for selling luxury products at a discounted price! These products can come from luxury retailers, your personal brand, or even your closet. Popular categories include luxury handbags, shoes, clothing, accessories, and jewelry!
What are the fees?
a. For each transaction, you will be charged a Transaction Fee (in an amount equal to 10% of the sales price), the tax charged on each Transaction Fee, a payment Processing Fee (in an amount equal to 3.5% of the final order price), and the tax charged on each payment Processing Fee (if applicable).
b. Sellers utilizing ShopThing’s carrier accounts to generate a shipping label will also be charged a Seller Protection fee.
How can I tell if I'm placing an order with a Marketplace seller?
Customers can review and rate Marketplace sellers directly. To check if a Marketplace seller has ratings or to add one, simply visit their profile page.
Each Marketplace order provides the following details on the product description page and in your order confirmation email:
Sold and shipped by marketplace seller, seller handle
FINAL SALE: No cancellations, returns, or exchanges allowed, including for VIP members.
Marketplace sellers may be featured in both the Featured and Marketplace tabs.
How does ShopThing verify the authenticity of products?
At ShopThing, we pride ourselves on bringing you the best deals on authentic luxury goods, which is why we guarantee authenticity or your money back! We prohibit the sale of counterfeit, replica or fake products. Should any item be identified as inauthentic by a trusted authentication service such Entrupy and/or Real Authentication, you will receive a full-refund.
ShopThing is an independent operator from the brands listed in-app. We source new and pre-loved products from certified distributors, third-party suppliers and the best luxury retailers and work with them to provide you 100% authentic pieces. We take pride in offering only genuine products, and indicate when items are pre-loved or gently used.

How does the shipping process work when purchasing from a Marketplace seller?
When purchasing from a Marketplace seller, the shipping cost is the responsibility of the customer. The exact shipping fee will be calculated and displayed during checkout based on the shipping method selected.
How does ShopThing vet sellers?
All of our sellers go through a rigorous process before hosting an event in our App. Once a customer has received their order from a seller, you will have the opportunity to rate and review the purchase.
In App, if you click on the seller icon, you will see the seller's overall ratings and any reviews that are left from customers who have purchased and received items directly from the seller. This is a feature to ensure that you are provided full transparency about who you are purchasing from, and what you can expect throughout the experience.
What is the returns process for orders fulfilled by Marketplace sellers?
As per our policy all items are FINAL SALE, this includes all purchases made by VIP pass holders. ShopThing does NOT allow cancellations, returns or exchanges on any items purchased through a seller on the Marketplace.
For all Marketplace orders, in the unlikely scenario that a product you receive is not as described in the video, media and/or description please send email to hello@shopthing.com within 3 days of receipt as per your tracking number. ShopThing will review your request and determine if the item is eligible for a return. If your request has been approved and a return label has been provided, you have 5 business days to return the item. After this period, your request will be closed and we will no longer be able to accept the return. If a return is approved, please note that the shipping cost and package protection fees are non-refundable.
”Return to Sender” Policy
As a seller, if you receive a package that is marked as “Return to Sender” due to an undeliverable address or the customer not being able to pick it up, please follow the below steps:
Email hello@shopthing.com with the Customer Name, Address, Tracking Number and ShopThing Order Number (if available). Please also include a picture of the package.
ShopThing will contact the customer on your behalf to coordinate a reshipment. This includes the customer covering the reshipment-cost.
ShopThing will generate a new shipping label and provide it to you to reship the original package.
